This letter to the editor appeared in the Yakima Herald Republic on September 10, 2006.
To the editor — I feel Bill Vivatson (Letters, Sept. 4) said it like it is, "Iraqis have more choice in voting than we do."
To this I want to add a note to nine Republican candidates I would have voted for if I had not been forced to declare myself a Democrat so I could vote for Sen. Maria Cantwell, whom I admire highly.
I cannot believe that I cannot vote for the person I feel is the best person for the job.
I voted and mailed in my ballots on Sept. 5.
